Acupressure Points for Edema in Face


Acupressure is an effective natural method to help reduce edema in face by applying pressure to specific acupressure points on the body. The following are the commonly used acupressure points for edema in face that you can do on your own. Instead of using your fingers, you can also use a tool called an acupressure pen, which is a pen-like tool with a small rounded end. Jingming (BL1)

Jingming, also known as Bright Eyes, can be used to relieve facial swelling and puffiness. It is located above the inside corner of the eye. Press it lightly with your forefinger and applying pressure using small circular motions.

Chengqi (ST1)

Chengqi, also known as Containing Tears, can be used to relieve swelling and pain in the eye. It is located directly below the pupil of the eye, between the eyeball and the infraorbital ridge. Press it lightly with your forefinger and applying pressure using small circular motions.

Jiache (ST6)

Jiache, also known as Jaw Bone, can reduce swelling of the cheek and face. It is located at one finger-breadth anterior and superior to the lower angle of the mandible, at the prominence of the masseter muscle when the teeth are clenched. Use your thumb or forefinger and apply pressure or you can do circular motion with finger.

Fengchi (GB20)

Fengchi, also known as Wind Pool, can be used to reduce swelling of the head and face. It improves blood circulation in the face and head. It is located behind your earlobe, toward the top of your neck and the base of your skull. Use your thumb or forefinger and apply pressure or you can do circular motion with finger.
