Acupressure Points for Knee Pain


Acupressure is an effective natural method to help reduce knee pain by applying pressure to specific acupressure points on the body. Zusanli (ST36)

Zusanli, also known as Leg Three Miles, is effective in reducing knee pain. It is located on the outer calf, about four finger widths under the knee bone. Use your thumb or forefinger and apply pressure.

Xuehai (SP10)

Xuehai, also known as Sea of Blood, can reduce swelling and pain in the knees and legs. It is located on the medial aspect of the thigh, when the knee is flexed. It is above the mediosuperior border of the patella, on the bulge of the medial portion of quadriceps femoris. Use your thumb and apply pressure or you can do circular motion with thumb.

Yanglingquan (GB34)

Yanglingquan, also known as Yang Mound Spring, can help to relieve pain and numbness in the legs and knees. It is located on the lateral aspect of the lower leg, in the depression anterior and inferior to the head of the fibula. Use your thumb or forefinger and apply pressure or you can do circular motion with finger.

Chize (LU5)

Chize, also known as Cubit Marsh, can be used to reduce knee pain. It is located on the crease of your elbow. Use your thumb or forefinger and apply pressure or you can do circular motion with finger.
