Acupressure Points for Wrist Pain


Acupressure is an effective natural method to help reduce wrist pain by applying pressure to specific acupressure points on the body. The following are the commonly used acupressure points to reduce wrist pain that you can do on your own. Instead of using your fingers, you can also use a tool called an acupressure pen, which is a pen-like tool with a small rounded end. Once you master this simple self-care technique, you can use it anytime and anywhere.

Daling (PC7)

Daling, also known as Great Mound, is commonly used to relieve wrist pain. It is located in the middle of the wrist crease between the tendons of palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis. Use your thumb or forefinger to press on it for 2 to 3 minutes.

Neiguan (PC6)

Neiguan, also known as Inner Gate, can be used to relieve wrist pain. It is located in the middle of the wrist, about two finger widths below the palm. Use your thumb or forefinger to press on it for 2 to 3 minutes.

Waiguan (TE5)

Waiguan, also known as Outer Gate, can be used to relieve wrist pain. It is located above the transverse dorsal crease of the wrist, between the ulna and radius. Use your thumb or forefinger to press on it for 2 to 3 minutes.

Quchi (LI11)

Quchi, also known as Crooked Pool, is used for relieving wrist pain. It is located on the side of the elbow, on the outer side of the arm. Use your thumb and apply pressure or you can do circular motion with thumb.
